About the Meal

Pull up a chair. Pour a glass. You’re officially in the Love Club.

This Valentine’s edition of Makers Meals is a 4-course dinner created by Kaylin Padgett of Love Child Cafe — equal parts soulful, indulgent, and a little bit playful. Inspired by the romance and rebellion of the 70s, the evening sets the tone with disco balls, candlelight, and a menu designed to be shared.

The experience unfolds at a beautifully styled communal table setting the tone for the evening.

A welcome cocktail and wine pairings are included with your ticket, curated by Anne Cameron of In Good Co. Wines and featuring bottles from Ultraviolet Wines. These wines are thoughtfully chosen to complement the menu and introduce guests to winemaker Samantha Sheehan’s expressive wines produced using locally-grown, organically-farmed grapes with no additives (other than minimal amounts of sulfur). Her wines are fruit-forward, aromatic, and with nice acidity. A non-alcoholic pairing is available upon request.

Hosted in the collective studio space of Kate Thomas in Norfolk, VA, this dinner brings together makers, creatives, and guests for a night that’s equal parts elevated and relaxed, refined but never stiff.

And if the mood strikes? We just might push the table back and end the night with a disco party.
